What I’ve Learned from the Mad Women: Pick a Signature Piece of Jewelry
I’ve been watching a lot of MadMen recently - its easy to just stick a DVD in the player and hit “play all” and indulge in a world of sex, sexism, alcohol, and the American Dream.
I am captivated by Joan’s character - I mean who isn’t?
Watching back to back episodes made me realize a trademark piece of hers is the gold pen necklace she wears. Just long enough to draw the eye to her AMAZING curves and unique enough to be noticeable.
New goal? Find a signature, everyday wearable piece like Joanie’s. If it could hint to my life as her does (a pen necklace for a secretary…) it would be even better. The trick is to find the balance of quality piece that will hold up to every day where that isn’t too precious or fancy as to ostracize it from anything but evenings out.
